According to Barbara Walvoord of the University of Notre Dame, 51% of 12,000 students at secular schools said it was important or essential to "develop students' own religious beliefs" in college. 2006

13,700 students attended a religious event at Emory from the first day of orientation to November 1, 2008. While some of these events included faculty and friends, 95% were students. Some students attended more than one event. 6,980 undergraduate students attend Emory.
